Hello, all!! Welcome to the Guidance Corner!
While there are counseling sevices like one-on-one and small group sessions for students with specific
and/or personal concerns and issues, we offer classroom presentations on a wide range of topics. College,
Vo-Tech, work, career, smoking, national services are a few of the options students could expect to experience
this year. One of the best computer-generated, student-based inventory programs entitled "Naviance" alllows
students to identify personal likes/dislikes, skills, and abilities to better prepare them for post high school life.
Some students prefer to work in a vocational setting. We utilitize vocational services through Assunpink,
Career Prep, and Sypek to ensure quality, training. and the best opportunity for employment. Students are
connected to a wide range of employment through the classes connected to businesses in the feilds in which
they are studying.
Students looking to go to college have an opportunity to visit Mercer County Community College and speak
with personal advisors. After they tour the college, students are invited to a '' Q and A session'', where they learn
about testing, accommodations if desired, scheduling, and finding a major.
I assist students in creating resumes, looking for employment, filling out applications, and interviews.
With remote learning there may be some difficulties but let's try to get through this.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call at 631-4181 ext 2557.
Until then, may there be peace in your heart and serenity in your mind,
Tony Smith
