Mrs. Megan Van Zelst- MSR Teacher

I am one of the Multisensory Reading Interventionists in Hamilton Township School District.  Before I took this position, I had been a special education resource room teacher in HTSD for over 20 years.  As an MSR teacher, I instruct students who have significant deficits in foundational reading skills.  MSR teachers use the Orton Gillingham approach (OG) to explicitly teach  structured & sequential reading and writing skills.  Activating visual, auditory, tactile and sometimes kinesthetics simultaneously engages the learner and promotes memory retention.  This is my passion, as I have witnessed student success with the OG approach since I have been implementing it since 2017.

I'm married and have a seventeen-year-old son, Owen, and a thirteen-year-old daughter, Olivia.  We reside in PA.
