Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to first grade (1-C)! I am looking forward to working with you and your son/daughter this academic year. This is my 21st year teaching at Mercerville School. During those years, I have had the pleasure of teaching kindergarten, first grade and second grade. First grade is such a wonderful year of growth, learning, becoming more independent and forming new friendships.

Please check the first grade supply list link on my website for supplies needed for this academic year; everything else will be provided once your son/daughter arrives to school. In addition, please pack your child a water bottle to have in school throughout the day ( preferably a reusable water bottle). 

I would like to stress that as a parent myself and as a teacher I want to make sure that the lines of communication are open between teacher and parents, so please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. You are welcome to send me a note in your child's folder or send me an email at ccassaday@htsdnj.org
