WELCOME TO THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR!

This year I will be teaching the following grades & classes:

 6th & 8th Grade Physical Education

7th Grade Health

tchianese@htsdnj.org

There will be Google classrooms for all of my classes.  I will have a PE Google Classroom for each class this year and one for each of my Health Classes. There will be a Google meet code in the Google classroom so that if we do need to meet at any time, you can access the code directly from the Google classroom for your class.

Google Classroom will house all important announcements, notes, slide presentations, project materials, tests and quizzes. So it is very important that you join the Google classroom and look at it daily. ALL HEALTH CLASSES WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING A NOTEBOOK TO CLASS EVERYDAY ALONG WITH AND PEN OR PENCIL.  I look forward to a successful school year.

Grading: Summative - 50% Tests, Projects

               Formative -   40% Quizzes

Individual Practice - 10% Classwork and Activities

Attention Parents/Guardians:

  1. Please visit your child’s Powerschool Portal to view ALL upcoming due dates for assessments, projects and homework.

  1. Students will be given 1 WEEK to complete and submit a formative or summative assignment. Teachers will use their discretion about dropping points for late assignments.  If not handed in for partial credit after one week, the assignment will receive a Zero.

  1. Assignments that are not submitted on time will have a “0” place holder UNTIL the assignment is completed and submitted.  Once a grade is placed, the Zero is removed.
