    Hello, I am Mrs. Morales! This will be my 22nd year as a teacher and I will be starting my 13th year at Reynolds! I will be teaching 7th Grade ELA !! My goal is to help your child develop the academic skills and character needed throughout middle school to transition from elementary school to high school! My expectations are that each student will be successful this school year both in their academic and social lives by becoming responsible and respectful individuals.

    HOPE: Hamilton Opens Pathways to Excellence 


    Students will learn techniques and strategies needed to become independent readers. We will read the novel, "The Watson's Go to Birmingham", and other short stories while focusing on story elements. We will learn new vocabulary and figurative language. Students will write narrative, persuasive, and formative essays. They will conduct research on various topics.

    Summative-50%, Formative-40%, Independent Practice-10% 

    Attention Parents/Guardians:

    1. Please visit your child’s Powerschool Portal to view ALL upcoming due dates for assessments, projects and homework.

    2. Students will be given 1 WEEK to complete and submit a formative or summative assignment. Teachers will use their discretion about dropping points for late assignments.  If not handed in for partial credit after one week, the assignment will receive a Zero.

    Assignments that are not submitted on time will have a “0” place holder UNTIL the assignment is completed and submitted. Once a grade is placed, the Zero is removed. 


    Report Cards will NOT be mailed. You can access grades on PowerSchool
