    Hello, I am Mrs. Morales! This will be my 21st year as a teacher and I will be starting my 12th year at Reynolds! I will be teaching 6th Grade ELA and 8th Grade Math!! My goal is to help your child develop the academic skills and character needed throughout middle school to transition from elementary school to high school! My expectations are that each student will be successful this school year both in their academic and social lives by becoming responsible and respectful individuals.

    HOPE: Hamilton Opens Pathways to Excellence 

    ELA

    Students will learn techniques and strategies needed to become independent readers. We will read the novel, "The Breadwinner", and other short stories while focusing on story elements. We will learn new vocabulary and figurative language. Students will write narrative, persuasive, and formative essays. They will conduct research on various topics. 

    Math

    • Students will learn how to do transformations in the coordinate plane, solve multi-step equations, learn the Pythagorean Theorem and how to use it, and understand slope and graphing in slope-intercept form.

    District Grading Protocol

    Summative-50%, Formative-40%, Independent Practice-10%
