B.A. Secondary Education Spanish M.S. Education Administration

Mrs. Allison Park

¡Hola soy Sra. Parque!

I grew up in central New Jersey and am a proud alumna of Steinert High School. During my career at Steinert, I was involved in the plays, Honor Societies and the captain of the swim team. Once I graduated from Steinert, I earned my BA in Secondary Education- Spanish from Lock Haven University. I also swam for Lock Haven. My learning didn't stop there, I went back to school to earn my Masters in Education Administration in 2017 from Drexel University. I am a lifelong learner and hope to empower students to feel just as enthusiastic about their learning!

As far as my language career is concerned, I have always had a passion for language. My mother bought me my first Spanish dictionary when I was a very young girl. I didn't know how to pronounce anything, or read much for that matter, but I begged her to buy it for me. I was then fortunate enough to begin in sixth grade at Reynolds Middle School. I then chose to take Spanish I in eighth grade, looking ahead toward Spanish II in ninth grade. Upon entering my Spanish II class in my first year of high school, I was greeted by my teacher playing the guitar and singing "La Bamba". I knew from that moment that that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life- teach Spanish (muchísimas gracias Sra.!). During college, I was able to spend some time abroad in Spain and Mexico. I have since gone back to check up with friends, see new and old things and show new friends what it is all about.

I have spent nine years teaching Spanish at The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ and I am back and ready to be a Spartan again! I love spending time at the beach and with my husband and son. I also like to read when I am not working/grading papers. :)
