How do, all you fine freshmen (and Honors-level sophomores) -
WELCOME BACK ... and WELCOME TO STEINERT HIGH SCHOOL!
And, of course, welcome to what will be the FIRST of several English Language Arts classes you'll be taking here in the land of the Spartans!
As most of you know, school's startin' on Wednesday/Sept. 6th ... BUT, on a positive note, it's a short week, and one that kicks off on a One-Session Day, no less.
So, aside from the anticipated heat in the weather forecast, there's nothing to seriously sweat on your first day ... other than showing up, introducing yourselves, and getting to know your surroundings, your teachers, and especially your fellow students.
BUT ... that doesn't mean you shouldn't come prepared for class.
So, my fine diligent scholars-to-be ... as we prepare to get things rolling, here's a few tips about how to make this first week go smooth ...
EVERY ELA STUDENT SHOULD BRING TO CLASS:
- a FULLY-CHARGED Chromebook WITH a Chromebook charger
- a separate spiral notebook OR black-n-white composition book (to take notes)
- at least 2 sharpened pencils with erasers
- one ballpoint pen (in blue OR black ink),
and, most importantly ...
- your thoughts, your ideas, and your imaginations.
Any other class-related announcements will be found on your Google Classroom pages, which have officially launched!
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you face-to-face, and getting to work with you on improving your English Language Arts skills this school year ...
See ya in class / around the hallways ...
