Ms. Kelly Stratton

Hi! My name is Kelly Stratton and I teach Applied Tech at Reynolds Middle School.

The goal of Applied Technology is to enable students to gain an increased understanding and experience of technology.  Technology is generally defined as the means by which we try to improve our people-made world.  Applied Technology is an integrated, experience-based, “hands on” instructional program designed to prepare students to be knowledgeable about technology - its evolution, systems, different types of resources, utilization, and social and cultural significance.

This results in the application of Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM) concepts related to technological systems in areas such as, but not limited to: Construction, Manufacturing, Communication, Transportation, as well as Power & Energy.  Throughout the time we are in class, students are challenged to discover, create, solve problems, and construct solutions by using a variety of tools, machines, materials, and processes.

Homework is NOT ASSIGNED.  However, if an Assignment, Worksheet or Test Review is not completed during the regular class period, it must be finished outside of class time.

Class Supplies:

The following supplies are required for this class:

  • Computer/District issued device & Google Classroom
  • Always good to have but not required: A folder, writing utensils & notebook/paper

  • Assignments that are not submitted on time will have a “0” place holder UNTIL the assignment is completed and submitted.  Once a grade is placed, the Zero is removed.
