Welcome to Mr. Hewitt's 6th Grade Math
I hope that you all had a happy and healthy summer!
I come to Reynolds Middle School from a slightly unusual perspective - I taught math in the 1990's, but I have been an attorney for more than 20 years. I am returning to the classroom to teach math, a subject that I love and have taught at many levels. Math is the ultimate universal language, and I look forward to helping each student develop and enhance their math skills.
This year we have a new online textbook that will allow us to continue teaching math via technology. We will supplement the online textbook with various videos, interactive practices and games. Please remember to bring your laptop everyday, because most of our work and materials are now online.
Please refer to the green tabs at the left for the grading policy & additional class information.
Please visit your child’s Powerschool Portal to view ALL upcoming due dates for assessments, projects and homework.
Students will be given 1 WEEK to complete and submit a formative or summative assignment. Teachers will use their discretion about dropping points for late assignments. If not handed in for partial credit after one week, the assignment will receive a Zero.
Assignments that are not submitted on time will have a “0” place holder UNTIL the assignment is completed and submitted. Once a grade is placed, the Zero is removed.
