Meet Dr. Scott Rocco
Hamilton Opens Pathways to Excellence... HOPE
Dr. Scott Rocco started in May of 2017 as Superintendent of Schools for Hamilton Township School District.
EDUCATION
Dr. Rocco received a Bachelor of Arts from Trenton State College and a Master of Education from The College of New Jersey. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Education from Seton Hall University.
BACKGROUND
Dr. Rocco started his career in Hillsborough Township Public Schools as a middle school and high school teacher. In middle school he taught social studies and reading, and in high school he taught social studies. During this time, he was also an advisor for several clubs and a coach. Dr. Rocco started his administrative career as a middle school vice principal, then became an elementary school principal, and finally Assistant Superintendent for Personnel.
In 2013, Dr. Rocco became the Superintendent of Schools in Spotswood Public Schools. While there, he worked to update the curricula, implemented educational technology in the classroom, transitioned the district to Google Apps for Education, integrated a social media platform to provide information to the community, and passed a facilities referendum.
FUTURE
As the Superintendent of Schools in Hamilton Township School District, Dr. Rocco works with members of the school district and community to provide students with an outstanding education that prepares them for their future. He is also committed to increasing communication between the school district and community through face to face meetings, social media posts, and print media.
Dr. Rocco is proud to be both the Superintendent of Schools and a resident of Hamilton Township, where he and his wife are raising their three children, all of whom have attended schools within the Hamilton Township School District.
